Hoback Sports: Trusted Since 1976

ABOUT

The Hoback Sports Story

Hoback Sports was founded in 1976 in the town of Jackson, Wyoming. When we opened the doors in the ’70s, we aimed to be the best ski and bike shop in the Tetons. Over the course of those 40 odd years, a lot has changed: The store is bigger, and the gear and sports have evolved. But our commitment to excellence and dedication to customer service remain the same.

Our staff is a tight group of mountain junkies that all moved here for the same reason: to work and play in the Tetons. We have 15 full-time employees and another dozen that fill in seasonally. We’re all self-admitted gear nerds with a passion for skiing and cycling, so you’re likely to see us playing in the mountains when we aren’t working at the shop.

We’re very fortunate to be located in Jackson, which has such a rich history and amazing local community that have undoubtedly helped fuel our success over the years. We try to show our appreciation by supporting our local nonprofit organizations and community events each year.

Why Locals Love Us

"The guys at Hoback Sports saved me from a really rough week in the backcountry! I had a tail clip on my splitboard break the day before a 3-day backcountry tour. I came into Hoback Sports just before they closed and even though they didn't carry the exact part I had lost, the guys there were able to work out a quick fix with a slightly different part! Thanks so much!"

"I was in and out in probably 10 minutes or less and got the rentals I needed to ski at JHMR. The blonde with braids helped me and was very nice and accommodating and made sure everything was safe and good to go before I left. I ended up renting the Blizzard Rustler 10's in 180cm. I'm a 190cm +/- kinda guy but I made it work and it was fun having fresh snow in the area. If you're planning on skiing Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, make sure to reserve skis or snowboard before you get here, you won't be disappointed."
