Trailhead: Teton Pass
Black Canyon could certainly be in consideration for the best trails in Jackson Hole award if there was such a thing. Black Canyon is one of the original Teton Pass trails. It descends over 2500 vertical feet through alpine fields, forests and creek beds. This trail is a must ride if you are hunting for signature Jackson Hole mountain bike trails.
Most riders choose to descend this single track, but you can ride it in either direction and some do choose to climb it. Most riders choose to leave a car at the base of the old pass road and shuttle a car to the top of Teton Pass where they start the ride. We recommend parking at old pass road and riding a loop up old pass road then down the Black Canyon trail back to your car. This adds a significant climb of 1900 vertical feet to the ride, but it makes for a fantastic loop.
