Athlete Series: How to Manual by Magnus Lowham
How to Manual:
Step One:
First you need to get used to the motion of getting the wheel off the ground. The best way to do this is by moving your hips down and then back in an “L” shape.
Step Two:
Now you need to start figuring out where the balance point is. The bast way to go about that is by popping up the front wheel to where you are on the verge of looping out and then pulling the back break. The balance point is right before this. If you practice this enough at low speeds you’ll never need to worry about falling over the back later on in your manual journey.
Step Three:
Practice makes perfect. Just stay persistent and keep trying every time you get out on a bike ride. A great way you can practice is by going on a downhill road, setting a starting point, and setting goals for manual distances.
